Childhood Anxiety Treatment Looks Different at ResWell
In Addition to Standard Treatment Options, Your Child May Benefit From Our Integrative Therapies:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- CBT is an evidence-based form of talk therapy that helps identify and address negative thought patterns contributing to anxiety in children.
- With this treatment, your child can learn effective coping skills that help guide them through recurring symptoms and other challenges in the future.
- CBT can work well with other childhood anxiety treatments, including equine-assisted therapy, neurofeedback, and other forms of talk therapy.
Neurofeedback
- Neurofeedback is a non-invasive, drug-free treatment that shows how your child’s brain functions so they learn how their brain reacts to specific triggers.
- Since anxiety tends to keep the brain in a negative cycle, training the brain with neurofeedback can break the cycle and encourage positive thoughts.
- Neurofeedback “trains” the brain without altering your child’s brain chemistry, offering positive results without potential side effects.
EquusLed Program
- EquusLed is equine-assisted psychotherapy that involves interactive horse activities and experiences that can help improve mental health concerns like anxiety and promote emotional growth and learning.
- Your child can expect to engage in activities and/or unstructured interactions with the horses — no riding is involved.
- Children learn about themselves and others and then discuss their associated feelings, behaviors, and patterns with our expert child and teen anxiety treatment specialists.
Personalized Fitness, Nutrition, & Mindfulness Programs
- Physical well-being supports optimal mental health. Your child will receive expert guidance on physical activity, nutrition, and sleep as part of their anxiety treatment plan.
- Our clinical dietitian will develop an effective nutritional plan for your child.
- Our resiliency coaches will provide your child personalized physical activity/yoga routines, mindfulness exercises, and meditation techniques.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the most effective childhood anxiety treatment?
Most patients benefit from a combination of anxiety disorder treatments personalized to their specific situation and needs. Treatment for anxiety may be most effective when combined with cognitive behavioral therapy, equine-assisted therapy, neurofeedback, and other treatment modalities. We believe integrative treatment that includes nutrition, sleep hygiene, mindfulness, and daily physical activity makes the biggest difference for our patients.
How do I know if my child has anxiety?
If your child displays some of the symptoms listed above and those symptoms interfere with daily life, anxiety could be the cause. However, a comprehensive evaluation by a childhood and teen anxiety treatment center is necessary for an accurate diagnosis.
Do you see adult patients with anxiety also?
Yes, we are board-certified with nearly 20 years of experience treating adults. Our providers have expertise in anxiety and can provide comprehensive treatment plans for patients of all ages.
Do you offer telehealth appointments for patients with anxiety?
The first meeting is usually in person. We provide telehealth follow-up appointments to make treatment as easy and convenient as possible for child or teen patients and their parents. Specific scheduling depends on the treatment plan developed with your provider.
Do you accept insurance for children’s anxiety treatments?
While we do not accept insurance, we provide patients with the documentation necessary to file a claim with their insurance carriers.
