About Adam K. Herdina, PsyD

Dr. Herdina is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 21077) and received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of La Verne. He treats adults and adolescents, specializing in anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, and co-occurring substance use disorders. Dr. Herdina is trained as a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapist and has subspecialty skills in treating patients with anger control issues, victims and perpetrators of violence, and sexual compulsivity. He provides treatment to individuals and couples; provides clinical and forensic psychological and assessment services, including alternative sentencing; psychoeducation for diabetic patients; treatment for acting-out adolescents; bariatric surgery psychological screening evaluations; and level of care assessments for W5150 evaluations, hospitalization, and hospital care.

Dr. Herdina completed a one-year pre-doctoral training at the Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institute – Terminal Island, California. He completed internships at Aurora Charter Oak Hospital and the University of La Verne Counseling Center. Dr. Herdina completed his post-doctoral training at SHARPER FUTURE, a forensic outpatient treatment program for Federal and State sex offenders with psychiatric, substance abuse, and legal/court mandates. Dr. Herdina is also currently a police psychologist with the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). He provides therapy to sworn and civilian personnel and their significant others, conducts debriefings after Officer Involved Shootings (OIS), responds with the Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Team to hostage negotiation and barricaded suspect situations, conducts department trainings, and is involved in organizational and case-specific consultation.
