About Aysha Mushtaq, MD

Dr. Mushtaq is a double-board certified adult and child & adolescent psychiatrist. She completed her adult psychiatry residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) / VA Medical Center and her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at the University of Southern California (USC) / Los Angeles County Medical Center.

She earned her undergraduate degree in biology from the University of South Carolina, graduating summa cum laude, and went on to complete her medical degree at the Medical University of South Carolina.

During medical school, Dr. Mushtaq worked as a research assistant at Stanford School of Medicine, where she studied the effects of mental health stigma in immigrant populations. She also served as a teaching assistant for the course Psychology of Xenophobia and has participated in multiple diversity councils since her undergraduate years, with a focus on advocacy and equity.

Dr. Mushtaq is passionate about cultural psychiatry, trauma-informed care, and reducing mental health stigma. She is dedicated to making her patients feel truly seen and supported. She provides compassionate evidence-based care for a wide range of conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, autism spectrum disorders, and psychotic disorders.
