About Sandra Villacorta, PsyD

Dr. Villacorta is a psychological associate providing individual and group therapy for pre-adolescents through adults. She applies a client-centered liberation and feminist approach to provide affirming and empowering treatment that ensures that each child, adolescent and adult is seen and supported within the full context of their lived experience. She specializes in working with women and girls, neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, and marginalized communities.

Dr. Villacorta provides a trauma-informed and intersectional approach to her work that takes into consideration the many identities and unique circumstances that people face throughout the lifespan. She utilizes various evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Somatic and Mindfulness practices. Additionally, Dr. Villacorta provides care that is neurodiversity- affirming and developmentally appropriate and utilizes play therapy and creative arts/expressive therapy while keeping in mind the sensory needs of each individual. She is supervised by Vicki Chiang, Psy.D. (PSY 21136).
